Greetings to NCASCC Members and Other Interested Persons:
Welcome to our website!
This site represents those persons (55+ years) who continue to be a functioning, relevant and cohesive part of the communities in which we reside.
Many of the customs and practices of our present-day communities were initiated or, at the very least, maintained by our generation. Our senior adult population is growing at approximately three times the rate of other population groups, so we are the majority! We are a ‘new’ generation of seniors who are not content to sit at home quietly in retirement. Instead, we are becoming computer literate in this new technology-driven society in which we find ourselves. We are traveling, and we are continuing to make worthwhile contributions. We have had many experiences that have given us insights that we are willing to share. We have faced and overcome many generational challenges. Even as we deal with our most recent challenge of a worldwide health situation – COVID-19, we recognize the seriousness of our situation. We constantly monitor new developments and adhere to accepted practices for the prevention of the disease.
We ask each of you viewing our site to adopt our mantra of “It’s never wrong to do right, and it’s never right to do wrong.” As you consider senior citizens, don’t dwell on the things that we can’t do. Instead, remember the things we have done and the things that we continue to do, and do well.
Lastly, to our members and all other seniors – in the words of C.S. Lewis “You are never too old to set another goal or to dream a new dream.” Continue to be the positive footprints for the next generation to follow.
Linda H. Barnes, President NCASCC
